Verification System

Verification is disabled by default to spare time for configuration. Enable it with m/verify-config toggle.

Our verification system is very useful, yet complicated. You can block verifications from certain IP ranges and set a minimum delay for verifications from the same IP address. Also, when someone verifies, they get a role of your choice.

When a user verifies, they will be sent to a website where they must accept Malwarium's terms and also complete a captcha challenge. Then, they will be given a string of characters that they must send to Malwarium's DMs so that Malwarium knows it's the actual member who initially verified and no one else. Discord Authentication would take too long to complete for the members, so it is not used to check the validity of the member.

All verifications are within reach of an API with a secret key for individual servers.

Prefixes

The default prefix for Malwarium is m/ but server administrators can change it to a prefix of up to 5 characters.

URL Scanning

URLs sent by server members will be checked from the urlscan.io api. If the URL is reported as malicious, the bot will send an alert to the channel, run a quick user-data-factored alt check, and send a log of the whole event into your chosen logging channel. If URL validation starts to annoy you, you can always disable this with the m/sensors urls off command.

File Type Info

When someone sends an attachment, Malwarium will check if the file format could bear dangerous content or not. If it could bear dangerous or malicious content, Malwarium will send a message that lets other members know not to download it. If this isn't what you need, you can always disable it with the m/sensors attachments off command.

Development

Malwarium started out in February 2022 as a small project by an individual named dygy and was initially a simple URL validator. This bot is still in beta, but we're confident that it'll be absolutely perfect once we hear some useful suggestions from our users to improve the user interface and data accessibility.

This is a non-profit project. All profits and donations will be used to purchase better hosting and database systems.
