For this special occasion, a big onebot update is coming out EARLY!

onebot v1.1 08/08/2022

- onebot is now *open source* and released under the permissive MIT license! Now that it is out of private development, anyone can self-host a copy of onebot and modify it as they see fit. https://github.com/freepizzas-dev/onebot

- Removed message text based commands, replacing all with slash command versions. (coming to the official hosted version very soon)

- The /image command now has previous/next image buttons, allowing the original command user the ability to flip through images in the results.

- Made /define embed Views persistent, so now you can page through Define embeds even if some time has passed.

- Fixed the /quoteremove command not allowing anyone to remove quotes on some servers.

- Fixed 30-day quotestats display not showing the correct data.

- New `db_maint` module to enable auto-deletion of data for servers that haven't been seen in a long time.

- Lots of changes and bug fixes on the backend to reduce crashes.

- Updated nextcord library to version 2.1.0

Version 1.1 released, and open-source!

oneBot is now in over **1,460 servers**, with a member total of over **315,000**!

**onebot v1.2 09/11/2023**

Changes since v1.1:
- Several bugs with the /image command have been fixed
- Introduced new timeouts to several modules to improve responsiveness
- Added location caching to the /weather command for faster performance and better success rates (avoiding downtime at the Nominatim service)
- The /define module is no longer case-sensitive unless the keyword requires it
- Fixed a missing error message when attempting to add a blank quote using /quoteadd
- Fixed /google module implementation (**please see the note at the end of this announcement**)
- /gif module now has Next / Previous GIF buttons
- /ud now requires a channel to be marked as NSFW. This is a Discord-wide change that affects many bots, please do not submit change requests.
- new /info command shows the current bot status, including modules that failed to load and uptime stats
- Updated Pillow to 9.3.0
- Updated nextcord to 2.5.0

**Note:** Many of you have noticed that the /google command does not work properly. As we're not using the official API, Google has limited the number of lookups oneBot can perform per day. There is no fix in the works at this time, and the return of the /google command is uncertain.
